2006 Chardonnay

This wine is made from fruit (50%) from our vineyard, and fruit (50%) from our neighbour’s vineyard (Lake George Winery), where the chardonnay vines are more than 30 years old. The wine is 100% barrel fermented in French oak barriques (25% new), with lees stirring every 2 weeks. 25% of the wine was put through malolatic fermentation. It has a light straw colour with aromas of peach, melon, apricot, citrus and vanilla with nutty/buttery overtones. A smooth, rich palate with a long crisp but soft oak finish. Serve lightly chilled. This wine will complement mild cheeses, seafood and poultry dishes.
